Mark Charles Cavendish passed away on September 5, 2008 in Tucson, Arizona. His courage and indomitable spirit are remembered with pride, gratitude and love by his wife, Teresa and his son, Matthew. Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Loreta and Charles Cavendish of Boomer, West Virginia.
Mark was a 28 year employee of the Amphitheater School District, and a leader in the Amphi Education Association, the Arizona Education Association, and the National Education Association. Mark was a community organizer and activist who was recognized for his strong negotiation and advocacy skills, which he shared among several grassroots leadership organizations.
Mark served with distinction in the Tucson Company of the Arizona Rangers, holding the rank of Sergeant and the office of Historian. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge JDL #66, a Noble at the Sabbar Shrine, and a former Chaplain within the Arizona Division of the Sons of the Confederate Veterans.
Most importantly, Mark was a strong and loving husband, and Matthew's best friend and beloved Daddy.
